Lamborghini owners in Japan smash through a world record
Lambo drivers celebrating their favorite car marque turning 60 years old have set a new Guinness Book record by bringing 251 supercars together at the Suzuka Circuit in what was recognized as the world’s longest supercar column.
The event was attended by both the latest generation of Lamborghini cars and such classics as the Miura. The automaker also brought some vintage rides to the event that it had previously restored in its Polo Storico division. Examples included a Countach, an Islero and a 350 GT.
The company also held the local unveiling of one of its most recent creations, the dirt-track-capable Huracan Sterrato. The supercar, which debuted for the rest of the world last fall, hit the podium with auxiliary lighting installed all around, a rugged body kit and improved suspension.
A cyberpunk-inspired sculpture created by Japanese artist Ikeuchi was also exhibited at the event (we reported). It looked like a PC chassis with a futuristic sim rig or control center inside. A matching Huracan GTO accompanied the installation.
