Meet Asean Light, GM’s design study for Southeastern Asia
The SAIC-GM-Wuling joint enterprise in China has held a conference dedicated to its market strategy in the Southeastern Asian region.
The company already has a branch factory in Indonesia, and plans to expand its brand portfolio in the region to three car brands. SAIC-GM-Wuling is currently shipping its vehicles and other products to 104 countries around the world. The total car production volume has recently surpassed 1,070,000 units.
While discussing promising design directions, the company unveiled a stylish-looking sedan concept named the Asean Light. The large family car with gull-wing doors should give us a rough example of what to expect from the GM-SAIC-Wuling factory in terms of design and styling. No technical information has been provided.
