JMC and Ford introduce Dadao, a new car brand

Carmakers JMC and Ford have a history of cooperation spanning many years, and this unnamed pickup truck is meant to signify something important: the birth of a new car marque called Dadao.

Right now, all we have are three pictures showing different variants of the Dadao pickup, but a whole family of new cars is slated for market release under the same badge in the coming few years.

The truck runs on the same chassis and the same engines as the latest Ford Ranger, specifically the EcoBoost petrol engine rated at 258 PS (254 hp / 190 kW) and the Puma turbo diesel with 177 PS (175 hp / 130 kW). In its most basic spec, the body kit is rather simple, and so is the cabin trim. The interior looks rather like a step back with its analog instrument cluster and cheap eco leather all around.

The second version shown has a more premium feeling to it thanks to a different radiator grille, improved suspension, upmarket trim, a digital dashboard and a swiveling display in the middle.

Rounding off the trio is a Dadao off-roader armed with robust bumpers, larger wheels, underbody protection and other such gimmicks.
