DR rolls out a trio of Evo cars
Aside from its main lineup, DR Automobiles brought three new models to the Turin Auto Show this year. Despite rocking the company’s “Evo” badge introduced four years ago, they are all rebranded Chinese cars.
Specifically, two are Dongfeng models. The DR Evo 6 is a mildly redesigned Forthing T5 Evo, featuring a 4,550-mm (177.7-inch) long body and a 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 177 PS (175 hp / 130 kW). The car uses a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to drive the front wheels and starts from €29,900 in Italy.
The Evo Spazio minivan is 4,850 mm (189.5 inches) long and is a rebadged Forthing Yacht from China. It has the same engine/transmission combo and starts rom €30,900.
Finally, there is the Evo 8, which turns out to be a rebadged Kaiyi X7 Kunlun once you remove the cosmetics. It is a front-wheel-drive crossover obtainable with two engine options: a 1.6-liter block rated at 185 PS (182 hp / 136 kW) and a larger 2.0-liter one with 238 PS (235 hp / 175 kW). The transmission is of a preselector dual-clutch design. Prices start from €32,900.
