Range Rover Sport Electric spotted in Southern Europe
Jaguar Land Rover has taken its all-electric Range Rover Sport out for some road tests, Motor.es reports along with posting a small gallery of spy shots. The launch is expected in the second half of 2025, so let’s take a look.
In accordance with the automaker’s strategy called Reimagine, the Land Rover lineup shall incorporate at least six fully electric models by 2026. The first of them will be a flagship EV based on the standard Range Rover model, which the company teased back in late 2023. As for the Range Rover Sport Electric seen here, it appears to be in development alongside the flagship.
Like its gas-powered counterpart (see video), the RRS Electric will ride on the MLA Flex platform which supports all kinds of powertrains by design. The company claims that its upcoming EVs will be every bit as capable in off-road use scenarios as the classic SUVs while offering a more comfortable ride overall. Judging by the evidence so far, the exterior design will remain largely the same.
Rumor has it that both the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport will launch with two electric powertrain options to choose from. The battery size is rumored to be 100 kilowatt-hours for both, which should translate into at least 500 km (310 miles) of WLTP-rated range. We should learn more from JLR before the end of the year, so let’s stay tuned.
