VW says no to cheap plastics, goes for quality fabric trim instead
Volkswagen AG intends to get rid of cheap plastic bits in its car interiors, replacing them with superior recycled cloth material.
The executives of the company believe it will help the Volkswagen brand elevate itself above the competition and attract customer attention. Furthermore, when produced on a large enough scale, the reprocessed fabric is expected to cost even less than the plastic.
On a related note, the company wants to redesign its car interiors for a simpler and cleaner look, which should also help with the costs.
