Ford F-150 gets two option packs from Shelby
Shelby America has refreshed its offerings for the latest Ford F-150 Raptor. One is a package that can convert the truck into a formidable off-road machine, while the other one unlocks the full potential of the V8 engine.
Starting with the Baja Raptor package, it is available for the V6 version of the Raptor truck. It improves upon it with active cooling vents in the hood, a backlit grille, stainless-steel bumpers and towing eyes. Plenty of auxiliary lighting is included, too, even for the rear end, along with Shelby badges.
The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 under the hood gets an aluminum intercooler, a heat screen and some high-end intake components. The output stays at 558 PS (550 hp / 410 kW).
The hardcore Raptor R package squeezes over 910 PS (900 hp / 671 kW) out of the truck’s 5.2-liter Shelby Mustang GT500 V8. This becomes possible thanks to a supercharger, a Borla exhaust system and improved cooling all around. A BDS lift kit and a set of 18-inch Shelby Raptor Flow Forged rims shod in 37-inch rubber are included as well.
The interior makes do with the usual fare – embroidered floor mats, aluminum pedal pads and new leather trim on the seats with red accents. The dash gets a serial number plaque for bragging rights.
Prices start at $51,995 for the Baja Raptor and $54,995 for the Raptor R, donor truck not included. Shelby says both are limited editions, but doesn’t specify the quantity.
