VW Touareg facelift looks almost ready for production
The updated Volkswagen Touareg is getting ready for its May premiere, but, as these spy shots clearly indicate, the company still has some last-minute tests to run.
The prototype vehicle has smart wrap draped all over the headlights, but we know from earlier sightings that there are LED stripes under the main lights that overlap the radiator grille.
The lower apron also looks different. The sides stay the same, but the wheels are new. At the back, the taillights are different and possibly also connected with an LED strip – but there has been no confirmation so far.
Major changes will not make it inside the new Touareg: the displays stay the same, although the software might be more up-to-date.
The same applies to the drivetrains. In all likelihood, Volkswagen will ship the SUV with the choice between a petrol V6, a three-liter turbo diesel of the same configuration, and a hybrid powertrain.
