Unofficial: Ferrari to ditch Portofino M

The Ferrari Portofino M hardtop that received its latest update three years ago may soon leave the lineup for good, Road&Track claims referencing insiders. According to these reports, the new Roma Spider is set to take its place as the marque’s most affordable grand tourer convertible.

The original Portofino debuted in 2017, but its chassis originated from the elderly 2008 California model.

Powering the Roma Spider is a 3.9-liter V8 rated at 620 PS (612 hp / 456 kW), which pairs with an eight-speed DCT. The same engine drives the wheels in the Portofino M. The main difference comes in the shape of a soft top, which replaces the old metallic hardtop. The Roma Spider is also marginally faster with a sprint time of 3.4 seconds versus 3.45. Getting from zero to 200 km/h (124 mph) takes 9.7 seconds for the Spider and 9.8 seconds for the Portofino M.
