Brand-new Rezvani Tank X debuts with 1,014 hp under the hood

California-based supercar manufacturer Rezvani has held an official reveal event dedicated to its all-new SUV, the Tank X. The car can be obtained with a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon engine rated at 1,014 hp (756 kW), making it the world’s strongest production SUV.

The newcomer comes based on the stainless-steel Jeep Wrangler frame. The body has been designed 100% anew, meaning there is not a single panel from the original Tank to be seen. The exterior gives off distinct military vibes, and the designers say they focused on making it look as athletic as possible.

Powering the vehicle is a 6.2-liter V8 engine fitted with a mechanical supercharger that squeezes 1,014 hp (756 kW) and 1,180 Nm (870 pound-feet) of torque from it. Customers may still opt for more affordable versions rated at 274, 289 and 500 hp (204, 216 and 373 kW, respectively). The latter of the three is a diesel engine. Manual and automatic transmissions are available in all versions.

There is also a special trim version of the SUV called Military Edition, which packs heavy-duty suspension and chassis, Kevlar-reinforced body, a night vision system, bulletproof windows, a special fuel tank that can seal itself automatically in case of a leak, strobe lights, a smoke cannon (gas masks included), and a first aid kit complete with anti-hypothermia solutions.

In its most basic implementation, the Rezvani Tank X costs U.S. $155,000. The Military Edition lies $140,000 above that, and 1,014-hp versions start at $350,000.
