Video: LaFerrari successor spied during road tests
A successor to the legendary Ferrari LaFerrari supercar was sighted on public roads in Europe this weekend.
The video posted by Varryx on YouTube reveals a test vehicle with a microphone set up next to the tailpipes. It looks like the Italian company is trying to figure out how many decibels of noise the new engine produces.
There is little doubt at this point that the LaFerrari descendant will be part-electric in nature. It is still anyone’s guess what kind of petrol engine it will be based on, but the general consensus is that the V12 will retire in favor of a smaller mill. Whether it ends up being a 4.0-liter V8 or a 3.0-liter V6, it will certainly rely on a robust electric motor system to drive the combined output to 1,000 horsepower or higher.
The potential buyers may catch a glimpse of the production car as soon as this year, but if so, it will be a private event closed to the prying media.
