Xpeng plans an EU expansion
The Chinese automobile manufacturer is already selling its products in 40 countries around the world, and has plans for more.
The recently proposed anti-China import tariffs in the EU could hinder the expansion, especially since the European Commission has already ratified them. With the imports getting expensive, Xpeng is now considering launching production in Europe to circumvent the tariffs.
The company points out that it has no current plans for any new factories in the region. Instead, it is considering contract assembly at existing manufacturing sites.
