AC Cars revives Ace & Ace Bristol
AC Cars, the British company best known for its Cobra sports cars (see video), has announced the intention to bring back two other classics – the Ace and the Ace Bristol. We already have some photos, specs and prices.
Speaking of the latter, the minimum asking price will be £175,000, which translates into a cool 228,000 USD. For their money, buyers will get modern cars with vintage looks and only limited contemporary styling cues. For example, both roadsters sport better-rounded wheel arches and fenders than the originals.
Both models are based on a custom tubular frame made of steel and feature carbon-fiber bodywork. The interior design evokes nostalgia with a large wood-trimmed steering wheel and analog dash gauges. 15-inch multi-spoke wheels are also part of the standard equipment.
Power for both Ace and Bristol will be provided by a 2.3-liter, four-cylinder Ford EcoBoost engine. AC Cars expects to get around 304 PS (300 hp / 224 kW) and 375 Nm (277 lb-ft) of torque from it in tandem with a six-speed manual transmission. Outfitted like this, both roadsters should be able to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.6 seconds, the manufacturer estimates.
It remains unknown when the production may start.
